Multiplayer Software Engineer

We are looking for a full-time expert as Multiplayer Software Engineer to work on-site in Vienna, Austria on an unannounced title for mobile devices with our partner Chimera Entertainment.

What is an Expert

A lot in our company introduction underscores the fact that we maintain an open and welcoming environment with a strong focus on personal growth. Working many different projects at once, we tend to look for Generalist Programmers, comfortable with working on something new every day. Therefore, we usually don’t want to stress rigorous requirements and thereby needlessly limit our pool of applicants.

Sometimes, though, we need support in areas that our focus on flexibility can’t quite cover. That’s where you as an Expert come into play!

Expert Requirements

Having been involved in the release of at least one professionally developed video game or several non-game applications, you easily satisfy the requirements mentioned in our Generalist Programmer profile. On top of that, you sport these qualities:

You are experienced with Unity and C#. This is greatly enhanced by your experience developing community-driven Free-to-play (F2P) games for mobile devices.

Furthermore, the team will benefit from your experience developing synchronous online multiplayer games as well as designing and working with RESTful APIs. Another big benefit for your future colleagues will be your expertise in cloud services, like Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.

You are fine with travelling by train. You will regularly visit Chimera Entertainment in Munich, Germany. Riding the train once a month is the easiest and most convenient way of accomplishing this. As many of our partners, Chimera wants you and your colleagues to spend regular quality time with their team and we think that’s good for us all.

You will work with these technologies, among others:

  • Unity Game Engine in C#
  • Photon Network Engine
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Git Source Control
  • Jenkins Continous Integration
  • Atlassian JIRA & Confluence

Compensation & perks

For 38.5 hours a week we offer a minimum gross salary of € 39.550,- per year for the Multiplayer Software Engineer positions with at least 3 years experience. Your salary beyond that is negotiable, depending on your professional experience and qualification. On top of that, we offer the following perks:

  • Spend one paid day per month on personal training and learning
  • Flexible working hours (core office hours 10:00h-16:00h)
  • Paid overtime (no all-inclusive contracts)
  • 25 days of paid vacation (guaranteed by labor law) and around ten public holidays per year
  • Monthly get-togethers with a free drink
  • Monthly on-site massages for a reduced price
  • Free coffee and fruit
